Located in the heart of Ross-shire, Castlecraig provides the perfect base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands.
Highland Towns and Villages
The Easter Ross region encompasses a number of historic and picturesque towns and villages with museums, local arts and crafts shops and distilleries for famous whisky brands, as well as excellent pubs and restaurants offering traditional Scottish food and drink.
Wildlife
Coastal wildlife is in abundance with daily visits from bottle-nosed dolphins and seals to the Moray Firth – which our cabins have views down onto. Oystercatchers, herons and other waders are often spotted on the wetlands and waters of the Cromarty Firth and there is an RSPB reserve at Nigg bay. EcoVentures, a local sightseeing agency, offer a great way to experience the local sea life with Dolphin and Wildlife Watching boat trips.
Further inland, buzzards, hawks and red kites are commonly sighted and the surrounding forestry provides ideal habitats for red squirrels, pine martens, deer, owls, grouse and the rarely-sighted capercaillie.
Golf
We are very fortunate to have a number of famous golf courses nearby set in beautiful countryside
